Our last Twitter roundup before the 2017-18 season kicks off showcases some doozies, from Giorgio Chiellini singing Harry Kane’s praises to a take on the gaffer’s player wish list.

Giorgio Chiellini sings Harry Kane’s praises

One of the best center backs in Europe for decades, Giorgio Chiellini knows a special talent when he is forced to defend against one. The Juventus stalwart, in a post-game interview after losing 2-0 to Spurs on Saturday, talks about how far Harry Kane has come as a striker, ranking him among the very best in Europe. Absolutely nobody who knows about football is surprised by his comments, but the sentiment from a stellar, consummate professional is always nice to hear.

Mauricio Pochettino’s admiration for French wingers

Whether you agree with @cocoIamela‘s interpretation of Mauricio Pochettino’s admiration for French wingers or not isn’t really the principal point here. It is, regardless, a humorous take on the gaffer’s perceived penchant for quick, spry, young French wingers.

If Daniel Levy shared the unseen person’s sense of urgency, Pochettino might not, due to selection problems, have such a raging, impermanent migraine.

Pochettino’s wish list doesn’t resemble reality

@adhithya35 has pitted Pochettino’s player wish list against what has occurred in actuality since arriving at Tottenham. I cannot verify personally whether this list is accurate, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is. Does it look accurate to you?

Either way, the list definitely isn’t farfetched, as the gaffer continually struggles to convince the chairman to open his sewn-shut pocketbook.
