Harry Kane once again proved why he’s the best striker in England with a performance for the ages against Leicester on Thursday.

He’s not the best in terms of creativity, nor does he top the charts in terms of pure skill. He is , however, the most complete striker in the land. Kane is equipped with the full package and has no discernible blemishes.

He’s bullishly strong, surprisingly quick, unexpectedly creative and exactingly lethal when he gets a sniff of goal, no matter the distance or angle. The 23-year-old can turn on a dime and deceivingly has the soft, deft touch of an angel.

The local lad can score from anywhere with every appendage. He pots them with both feet and is one of the most proficient strikers with his noggin. But maybe the most impressive thing about Spurs’ talisman is his leadership quality. You can tell how popular he is in North London, not only with supporters, but with teammates and colleagues alike.

He’s the type of player you want to be around unremittingly.

Mock their overtly garish post-goal handshakes all you want.

But those handshakes are a microcosm of what Kane is all about. His infectious, boyish exuberance spreads through the team like wildfire, solidifying Spurs holistic camaraderie and collective solidarity.

"And he does the business on the pitch when it matters most. He doesn’t shy away from big matches, nor is he complacent against lesser teams. Kane is a dogged workhorse, a consistent performer and a grandstand player all rolled into one."

Reminiscent of Alan Shearer, Kane is the complete package, the full meal deal and is the only player who’s in with a shot of breaking the aforementioned Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal-scoring record.

Kane’s four goals against Leicester was not an aberration.

It was the fourth time he’s scored a hat trick in his last 18 starts. The lethal marksman now has 32 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions, a preposterous goal return of 0.86 per match.

His Premier League output is even more absurd. Kane has 26 goals in only 29 top-flight matches, which equates to a goal in 90 percent of games.

To put that into context, Shearer managed 31 goals in 35 appearances in 1995-96, a return of 0.89 goals per match. Kane will break that record if he scores a single goal against lowly Hull on Sunday.

No forward in the league comes close to offering what Kane does, both on and off the pitch. He’s a role model and a leader, an icon and ambassador. He’s also a teacher and loyal friend to his teammates.

Kane is on the verge of winning consecutive Golden Boots, as Spurs’ assassin is two goals ahead of Romelu Lukaku, who has played seven more games, going into Sunday’s final fixtures.

All of that, and he’s still only 23 years old.

So much for a one-season wonder.
