Kane scores four goals in Tottenham’s 6-1 rout of Leicester
By Gary Pearson
Harry Kane scored four and Son Heung-Min added a brace in Tottenham’s 6-1 thrashing of Leicester at King Power Stadium.
Alternating goals like it was a day at the training park, the dynamic duo – with the help of Dele Alli – were too much for Leicester to handle.
Kane notched his fourth hat trick of the season and will be ecstatic with leapfrogging Romelu Lukaku atop the goal-scoring chart. Kane currently has 26 top flight goals, now two clear of Lukaku with a match to play.
Kane will now fancy his chances of winning consecutive Golden Boot crowns as he readies himself for an away encounter with relegated Hull City. Lukaku needs to score a hat trick away to Arsenal without Kane scoring.
"It’s not over until the fat lady sings but the morbidly obese woman is definitely warming her voice."
Spurs completely dominated for the duration at King Power, as Leicester folded like a house of cards. It was reminiscent of when Leicester gave up on former manager Claudio Ranieri earlier in the season. Let’s not take anything away from Spurs, who would have been forgiven for letting their foot of the gas, especially considering what little they had to play for.
But the polar opposite was true of their performance, as Tottenham berated Leicester from the off. Kane – and Son before being substituted – was a man on a mission. He tormented Leicester’s inept defence, finding pockets of space in dangerous positions all evening.
Kane now has four hat-trick performances in his last 18 Premier League starts. The quartet of Kane, Dele Alli, Son and Christian Eriksen have scored 86 of Spurs 110 total goals this season. Alli also enjoyed a great day at the office, setting up Son’s first with a sublime scoop through ball, a skill we’ve previously seen from the 21-year-old this season.

Kane has 32 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions and 26 in only 29 Premier League outings. It’s one of the best goal return rates in the history of the top flight.
The triumvirate of Kane, Alli and Son have scored 74 goals in 132 appearances, with the latter two both on 21 in all competitions.
Talk about a frightening proposition for opposing teams. Their combined output shows how well they understand each other on and off the pitch and is further evidence of how important it is to keep this cohesive, well-oiled machine together for seasons to come.
