Vincent Janssen Wants Tottenham Move, Upset with AZ
Since Tottenham came calling for Vincent Janssen, the striker has made it known to AZ Alkmaar that he wants to move. Unfortunately Max Huiberts has blocked the move.
According to The Guardian, AZ Alkmaar have rejected Tottenham’s £16.5 million bid (€19.7 million). This appears to be Spurs’ second offer after their first one was rejected nearly a week ago — unless it’s the same exact one and the value is completely different.
In any event, what was reported yesterday in which AZ’s sporting director Max Huiberts refused to sell Vincent Janssen no matter what, is true. Considering that the 22-year-old Dutch international is upset with the club for blocking his transfer.

The current offer that The Guardian has reported in the link up top, is the right value for Janssen who is a proven goalscorer in his time spent with AZ last season by leading the Eredivisie with 27 goals in 34 appearances.
It’s not too high, but not too low for a player who has a high ceiling and could be on the verge of getting even better if he goes to the right club who can get the best out of him. Mauricio Pochettino, in his time with Tottenham these past two years, has shown he can get the best out of his players.
After all, what many saw from Harry Kane during his four loan spells before getting a shot with Spurs’ first team under Tim Sherwood, he is now a completely different person under Pochettino’s guidance.
The 22-year-old has achieved back-to-back 20-goal seasons working with the Argentine manager. Kane has always been a hard worker, that hasn’t changed, but he’s been more clinical with Pochettino coaching him up.
So, it’s not a stretch to think that Vincent Janssen can at least match that output or get around 10-15 goals if he joined Tottenham this summer. And it’s something that he hopes will clear up soon.
"“I have expressed my choice to the club. In my opinion, Spurs bid a high amount,” Janssen told Dutch television on his first day of pre-season training with AZ.“At the moment I’m still a bit disappointed with AZ. I’m disappointed with how they behaved. I would like to make the move.”“I indicated I would take the next step and want to get away from the club. They know and are aware of.”"
Because Vincent Janssen has three years left on his current contract after joining from Almere City last summer on a bargain £300,000 deal, there’s a good reason why Huiberts won’t sell his star striker no matter how much Tottenham, or Wolfsburg who are also interested, offers at this point.
“We don’t want to let Vincent go for €18m. We hope he stays,” said the technical director, Max Huiberts, after rejecting Spurs’ current offer.

With AZ playing hardball for Janssen, and Chelsea closing in on Michy Batshuayi after completing his medical, the Dutch striker is Tottenham’s main priority to sign as soon as possible.
While Roma’s Antonio Sanabria is still one of their targets, nothing has cropped up since news of an impending meeting to negotiate a deal happened a few days ago.
If this transfer saga with AZ Alkmaar drags on for much longer, it could resemble a Saido Berahino/West Brom situation all over again.
No doubt Spurs would like to avoid that at all costs, but until AZ Alkmaar accepts the money being offered in front of them, Vincent Janssen has enough say on this matter that should hopefully favor Tottenham to get a striker that Mauricio Pochettino has watched since last month.
"“It’s a shame, I would have wished that it would go a little faster,” Janssen added.“Sure it’s fine to train again. AZ is a fantastic club but I want to make that next step for my development.”“Ultimately I hope to shake people’s hand here and walk out of the door on good terms.”"

There’s no ill will between AZ and Janssen. The 22-year-old just sees a golden opportunity to play for a big club that could potentially help aid him in his development to become a much better striker.
And with Tottenham undergoing a youth movement, the Dutch striker automatically fits in with this current project that Pochettino is overseeing.
Hopefully this gets sorted out because Vincent Janssen wants to join now.
