Nacer Chadli began the season as a starter for Tottenham until he was forced to miss time with injury. Ever since he was fully fit, Mauricio Pochettino continued to give him just enough minutes as a substitute to get his feet wet. Against Crystal Palace the Belgian wide midfielder would get an extensive amount of playing time following a good showing against Leicester in Tottenham’s previous game. He would again make an impact.

To come in and record an assist for Harry Kane’s equalizer and scoring a goal — along with a goal in a 2-0 win over Leicester City in the FA Cup third round replay, shows a player who is not only fit but is returning to form. Chadli’s recent performances are encouraging and there’s a chance that he could force Mauricio Pochettino to consider tweaking his starting lineup to include him.

Let’s read what Nacer Chadli had to say about his game following a team win.

Spurs TV: So post-match here at Crystal Palace with Nacer Chadli. Nacer what did you think of the performance today?

Nacer Chadli: “Yeah I think we played attacking football like we always do. They got a lucky goal and then they defended well. But we created many chances and we couldn’t score.”

“And when we got the first goal, then we were able to score the score the second and the third one.”

STV: Were you happy with your own contributions today? Because you came on at 1-0 down and we finished the game and we’ve won 3-1.

NC: “Yeah I’m very happy for the team. I feel that we have a lot of players on this squad and it’s always good to have quality on the bench.”

“And I came on today, I made some impact and I’m very happy for the team.”

STV: What were your thoughts when Dele Alli scored that goal?

NC: “It was unbelievable because I was just five or 10 yards away from him. And I saw the action that he did, it was fantastic.”

STV: Have you ever seen something like that when you’ve actually been on the pitch?

NC: “No not from a teammate. And it was very very beautiful to see how he did the finish. It was unbelievable.”

STV: Of course we mustn’t forgot your goal because yours was very good as well. We don’t want to let yours get overshadowed by his do we?

NC: “No I prefer his goal to be honest. It was a nice finish and he put us 2-1 up and it was very nice.”

STV: It’s been a good few days for you, obviously on target at Leicester and now here today at Crystal Palace. Are you happy to be back in amongst the goals?

NC: “Yeah I’m very happy. I can make some impact for the team and that’s all it’s about you know, winning games. And if you play you can make some impact you know.”
