Let’s take a look at the latest transfer rumors involving Spurs.

The first transfer rumor has Spurs looking to complete a £6 million move for French striker Moussa Dembélé who plays for Fulham. Signing the 19-year-old would be a great addition for Spurs, but Fulham wants him back on loan after completing a potential transfer.

Next up, Coventry City manager, Tony Mowbray, has confirmed that there have been no formal bids for 19-year-old attacking midfielder James Maddison. Mowbray has stated that Maddison should remain with the Sky Blues for a while before moving. And lastly, Spurs are setting their sights on 19-year-old Italian striker Vittorio Parigini who is on loan with Serie B side Perguia from Torino. These are the latest transfer rumors.

This wouldn’t be new for Spurs since they already did this with Dele Alli when they loaned him back to MK Dons so that the League One team was able to earn automatic promotion to the Championship.

As for the transfer fee, at £6 million this is very doable for Daniel Levy and Co. but Spurs are still mulling over the addition of a young player who is on the fringe of their first-team. If both clubs agree to a deal, it will be another coup of a signing, but this might not happen until the end of the transfer window according to Standard Sport.

The other catch is that Moussa Dembélé is in no hurry to complete a move but also has an eye on moving abroad with Monaco, Wolfsburg, Roma, and his former club Paris Saint-Germain being interested. Although selling Dembélé outside of England will only net the Cottagers £300,000 in return as compensation fee.

Should Spurs sign James Maddison this January, then the 19-year-old would be surplus to requirements as there are plenty of attacking midfielders who happen to play other positions. However, a summer move or next winter, would be better for Spurs as they could decide what to do with certain players possibly switching positions or being sold instead.

That said, no formal bids have been submitted which Coventry City manager, Tony Mowbray, has confirmed.

But if there were, Mowbray’s hope for Maddison is that the English midfielder decides to stay at the Ricoh Arena and continues to grow as a footballer with the Sky Blues before leaving prematurely for a big club.

“I don’t know of any speculation because I don’t read it,” Tony Mowbray was quoted by Coventry’s official website at a press conference before their trip to Southend. “There is always speculation in the transfer window about good players but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.”

“There has been no formal approach or bid. I’m sure every club in the Premier League is aware of the talent down here, not just James Maddison, but as in formal bids, no.”

“He’s only a young boy and only played around 15-20 games at League One level. He should just concentrate on his football and continue to thrive in this environment.”

The search for a striker — being a backup or a starter alongside Harry Kane — continues and Spurs have found another versatile forward in Italy. Vittorio Parigini is a 19-year-old striker who has made 15 appearances (10 starts and 5 subs) in Serie B for Perugia this season with four goals and one assist.

The Italian striker can play across the front line and is currently on his second year of a two-year loan with Perugia from Torino. And with Spurs keeping tabs on Parigini, his agent doesn’t foresee a January move materializing just yet.

However that hasn’t stopped Vittorio Parigini from being flattered by Spurs’ interest.

“Interest from a prestigious club like Tottenham is flattering,” Parigini’s agent, Giorgio Parretti, told Goal.

“Parigini is fully focused on Perugia but is always considering his long-term future at Torini. It is too soon to talk about a move away but we will evaluate his situation with Torini in the summer.”

A signing like this would help bolster Spurs attacking four as Vittorio Parigini’s versatility makes him akin to Son Heung-min and that is valuable to Mauricio Pochettino. As the Argentine manager is specifically targeting forwards who can play multiple positions across the front line if need be.
