Tottenham and Leicester draw two-all in the third round of the FA Cup.

This was the match that everyone wanted to see in the FA Cup and both teams didn’t disappoint as the game ended in a 2-2 draw with late drama stemming from a penalty given to Tottenham. Nathan Dyer got called for hand ball inside the penalty box and it helped set up a third round replay after Harry Kane scored the equalizing goal.

By drawing level with the Foxes, this means sure that Spurs remain alive in the FA Cup and have a chance to go on a long cup run to win a trophy at the end of the season. Then again, it’s not as great as you might expect.

See, playing another midweek game doesn’t help both teams’ chances of remaining in the top four to end the month of January. It all but jeopardizes their league position.

Between January 16 and January 23 there were no games scheduled and it would have remained that way until Tottenham and Leicester drew two-all. Now on January 20, there will the be the third round replay and now the Lilywhites would have played six games in one month. Five of which happened in a 13-day span.

But hey, it’s best to remain in a cup competition than get knocked out in the third round again after losing to Arsenal in the League Cup’s third round. Pros and cons. So how about we begin this Conversation corner with Harry Kane who helped score the equalizing goal. His 50th for the club and first in the FA Cup with Spurs.
