Harry Kane isn’t going anywhere as his future lies with Tottenham Hotspur only. Money can’t persuade Spurs into selling their biggest homegrown star since Ledley King.

Amid rumors that Harry Kane is a target for football’s biggest clubs: Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Kane is happy with Tottenham and wants to stay. But there were no official quotes from the star striker until now.

Transfer speculation like these will continue to pop up because it’s the transfer window for one. Two, with footballers now always on the move to Champions League clubs, to better test themselves in preparation for Euro 2016 this upcoming summer.

And really, in general as well as making it to your national team, it was only a matter of time that people would figure someone like Harry Kane would supposedly trade in Lilywhite for Devil Red (Manchester United), the other white (Real Madrid) and the other red (Bayern Munich).

Thankfully that’s not the case, nor was it going to be one in the first place.

The 22-year-old striker is right at home with Tottenham both literally and figuratively speaking. Because Kane is a Tottentham supporter through-and-through, as he was born in Chingford which is about five miles by car, give or take, to White Hart Lane.

That passion for supporting your boyhood club is something that Mauricio Pochettino had mentioned a couple of days ago when news broke of Real Madrid considering a move for Harry Kane once Cristiano Ronaldo decided to retire or move to a different club in the near future.

“Harry Kane’s dream is to play for Tottenham and you feel his passion for the club, for the shirt. In football, sometimes it’s about business and money but for a lot of players, it’s about passion, heart and feeling. Harry wants to stay with us and he has repeated that several times.”

“We have a very good relationship and this is the truth. We don’t want to sell, and he wants to stay with us and it’s very good news for us, our supporters and for the club.”

How has Kane reacted to these rumors involving him leaving Tottenham?

“There are always going to be rumours flying around, but I’m happy here,” Harry Kane said.

“The club is in a good shape, we have a great future and I’m raring to go, so we will see what happens. We have got a lot of young players who are getting better with each game.”

Potential is another way to put it, when the England international was describing how the club is in good shape and has a great future ahead of them. Here’s Mauricio Pochettino continuing on about Harry Kane and the club.

“The potential of the club is unbelievable,” Pochettino continued. “In the last year-and-a-half, he started to settle here, he has passion for the club and he respects and feels the badge. It’s very important. We need to work hard to keep this feeling for the present and the future.”

Being given playing time is exactly what helped Kane settle into the club. It’s why he wasn’t starting as soon as Pochettino took over last May after a then 20-year-old got some playing time to close out the 2013-14 season at the end of Tim Sherwood’s tenure as Tottenham manager.

In a short run of limited playing time, Kane would start in six consecutive games, completed four games of 90 minutes, scored three goals and had two assists.

It was brief, but with more games under his belt, Kane eventually became the player that he is right now. A proven goalscorer who’s one of the best in the world at a young age.

So again, back to Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Assuming that Harry Kane did go to any one of these three clubs it would at most, be a 50-50 chance of the 22-year-old being a starter with how Man United, Real and Bayern have slightly tweaked their squad building philosophy.

All three clubs are known for producing some of football’s greatest players over the decades from the youth ranks and/or signing players who had some value but would later grow into bigger stars. Signing expensive but talented and established footballers gives off of a vibe that clubs are looking to the future but not with homegrown players in a way.

Obviously, signing players isn’t something that should be frowned upon.

But there’s something to be said when a club like Tottenham, which is now focusing their attention on solely signing young players or promoting from within their own academy, wants to win with youth academy graduates that they’ve nurtured over the years.

It strongly resonates with Harry Kane, Dele Alli or even Josh Onomah, that Spurs want to build their team around the next generation of young English talent to help lead Tottenham and England into the future.

To help see this through and being a Spurs supporter his whole entire life, is what will keep Harry Kane from leaving Tottenham for a bigger club and earning higher wages. Even if a move could ultimately win him plenty of championships much easier and as soon as possible.
