Years Served: 2004-2006

Stats: 71 appearances, 2 goals, 3 assists

Though he’s rightly remembered more now as a Manchester United legend, Carrick graced White Hart Lane with his fine play from deep in central midfield for two seasons prior to his £18 million pound move. It’s hard to imagine how Tottenham might be different had Carrick stayed, but it certainly would have helped address the club’s rolling problems with finding quality in midfield. As it stands, however, Carrick serves as perhaps the first example people jump to when they describe Tottenham as a selling club.
