Venue: White Hart Lane
Goalscorers:
— Tottenham: Christian Eriksen (36′)
— West Brom: Jonas Olsson (38′)

Out of the past five Boxing Day fixtures, this was the only game on this slideshow were Tottenham didn’t come out with a win, they drew instead.

More from Hotspur HQ

A 36 minute Christian Eriksen free-kick, which was a beauty by the way, saw the ball go over the wall and somehow tuck under the bar, hitting it and going in. Sadly, that short momentum was vaporized by Jonas Olsson’s equalizer two minutes later.

Aside from the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, this fixture would be contested between two teams who managed to sack both of their managers within a span of two days. Aston Villa sacked Steve Clark on December 14 and then two days later, Tottenham did the same to André Villas-Boas.

In essence, Villa had a caretaker manager, Keith Downing, but no successor at the time and managed to draw level with a Tim Sherwood-led team that should have been the victors when you factor in the Villains last eight games. They didn’t register a win but had two draws and six losses. Two points dropped for Spurs.
