Tottenham will be taking on Norwich City on Boxing Day (December 26) at White Hart Lane. Three points are up for grabs and a chance to continue an almost flawless record in north London before losing to Newcastle United 2-1. Spurs’ first home loss of the season. To the numbers below.

  • 2 — Two. In the previous six meetings between Tottenham and Norwich City, Spurs and Norwich have shared points right down the middle: a 2W-2D-2L record for both clubs.

Home team vs Away team

2/23/2014 | Norwich City 1 — 0 Tottenham Hotspur
9/14/2013 | Tottenham Hotspur 2 — 0 Norwich City
1/30/2013 | Norwich City 1 — 1 Tottenham Hotspur
9/1/2012 | Tottenham Hotspur 1 — 1 Norwich City
4/9/2012 | Tottenham Hotspur 1 — 2 Norwich City
12/27/2011 | Norwich City 0 — 2 Tottenham Hotspur

  • 3 — Three. There have only been three clean sheets in this matchup during the past six meetings. Tottenham own two clean sheets whereas Norwich City only have one.

Norwich City’s Away Form:

  • 2 — Two. Norwich City have only won two games on the road: 3-1 against Sunderland and 2-1 against Manchester United.
  • 7 — Seven. Before last weekend’s win over Manchester United on December 19, the Canaries had gone on a seven-game winless streak after recording their first road win of the season.

Norwich’s Goalscoring and Conceding Form Away:

  • 4 — Four. Norwich City have managed to score two-plus goals in four road games.
  • 6 — Six. Norwich have scored in six out of their nine road games that have been played so far this term.
  • 9 — Nine. The Canaries have yet to record a clean sheet as the away team this season.

Looking at the numbers from above, there are a couple of things to point out. First, Norwich will concede a goal — they’ve done so in nine consecutive games when they were the visitors. Two, Tottenham have scored in six home games out of nine which have been played thus far in the season.

And lastly, coming off of their first-ever home loss on the season, Spurs will be looking to get back on track and pull off a win, or at least a draw. Tottenham are the fourth best team at home with a 4W-4D-1L record and a combined 88 percent change of picking up points (44% chance to win and 44% chance to draw). Spurs have accumulated 16 points at home out of a total of 27.

Whereas, Norwich City are ranked as the 15th best team on the road. Owning a 2W-2D-5L record. The numbers don’t favor the Canaries so there will be plenty of pressure on the newly-promoted-but-returning Premier League club to get at least a point. Norwich have earned just eight points on the road out of a total of 27.
