Here’s the latest Tottenham Hotspur Links

These are the three stories that Hotspur HQ has to offer. First, Mauricio Pochettino wants to see the Premier League schedule games around European competitions to help benefit teams who will be dealing with short rest. The second story is about Son Heung-min being nominated for the AFC Asian International Player of the Year award for his 2014-15 season with Bayer Leverkusen. And finally, Kenneth McEvoy, is going out on another loan, his fourth since promotion from Tottenham’s Under-18 group. Let’s get to the links down below.

“To be fair, you need to compete in every competition with the same conditions as the opponent. I am not complaining. I only want to translate our feeling. I only want to bring attention to the conditions, that it’s not fair to have two days less recovery than the opponent.”

What Mauricio Pochettino says can be taken in two different ways. If you’re a Tottenham supporter, the Premier League games are scheduled unfairly. If you’re not a Spurs fan, you might think Pochettino is making excuses if he loses a match on short rest. In the end though, it’s a little bit of both.

There are pros and cons with the current schedule, but mainly it could be fixed if the Premier League did anything about it. Because let’s be honest, no one can deny that certain clubs will get an advantage if they play on Tuesday or Wednesday and get an extra four to five days of rest if they have to play again on Sunday. Compared to a team who has to play on Thursday and then once again three days later on Sunday.

This award takes Son Heung-min’s 2014-15 season with Bayer Leverkusen into account only. When the 23-year-old South Korean international posted another productive season with the German club when Son accumulated 42 appearances, 17 goals, four assists and 3,169 minutes last term. The AFC Asian International Player of the Year award is an award that recognizes outstanding players and their performances while playing overseas but are from AFC countries

“Baby Bale” or “Irish Bale” if you wish to use those as a nickname. In any event, Kenneth McEvoy is back on loan. This time to York City after returning from Stevenage a month ago, tomorrow (October 26).

It will be McEvoy’s fourth loan in his young career as the 21-year-old tries to develop and get better in order to make it onto Mauricio Pochettino’s first team squad. While with Tottenham’s Under-21 team this season, Kenneth McEvoy has appeared in five games and scored three goals in 247 minutes of action.

The hope is that his fourth spell away from the club to 24th placed York City in League Two will be better than his previous three stints while on loan. As in, earning more regular starts and being a part of the time rather than just occupying the bench.

Should the Republic of Ireland international not get much playing time from now until January 2nd when his nearly two-month-plus loan spell ends. Then it would be wise to just keep him on Spurs’ second team and bring Kenneth McEvoy along with the first team during their post and pre-season tours as well as European games. It’s the best case scenario for McEvoy as his loan spells haven’t worked thus far.
