Tottenham Hotspur Links: 10/30/15 Morning Edition
Tottenham Hotspur’s latest morning news is here.
It’s the day before Halloween and there’s plenty of morning news to get to, but only three will be selected as they are good talking points. One is team news, another is how Mauricio Pochettino is dealing with a congested schedule this season than last season and finally, Pochettino is amused about the Manchester United transfer rumor situation regarding Harry Kane. Let’s get started below.
– Team news, Spurs vs Villa [via Tottenham’s official site]
A quartet of players will be out of action against Aston Villa which isn’t a surprise. It’s the same four players: Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli, Alex Pritchard and Heung-Min Son who are still dealing with their respective foot and ankle injuries that they’ve picked up along the way. Of course once these next three games are over — Aston Villa, R.S.C. Anderlecht and Arsenal — the international break will be here. This gives Tottenham more time to re-asses their players to see how close they are to coming back. It’s a good bet that following the upcoming international break, Spurs will be close to 100 percent healthy assuming no one else gets hurt.
– Mauricio Pochettino won’t complain about congested schedule [via ESPN FC]
Last season Mauricio Pochettino claimed that facing West Ham United (Premier League), ACF Firoentina (Europa League) and Chelsea (Capital One Cup) was “unfair”. This year the Argentine coach is getting ready to navigate through another heavily congested schedule starting on Monday.
“We know the rules and the business. We need to accept it. We need to be ready and work hard, to try to avoid the problem that play every two days. It’s not a big issue. We are ready to compete on Monday, Thursday and Sunday.”

If Tottenham suffers a defeat in any of these three games, Pochettino won’t be making any excuses as this is the hand that they were dealt. Injuries are a part of the game and Spurs have done well so far, so there’s no excuses or complaining that should be coming from the team unless there’s a controversial call that happened.

This transfer rumor regarding Manchester United wanting to sign Harry Kane this January is starting to get out of hand. This deal won’t go through unless Daniel Levy wants to make another terrible decision when he got rid of Gareth Bale in the summer of 2013.
Mauricio Pochettino summed up this transfer rumor with just three simple sentences.
“I smile because the rumors are always there. The rumors are the rumors. Even now it is too early start speaking about rumors but you know in football it is normal.”
Transfer rumors, like injuries, are a part of the game, it happens. Teams who are in need of players to fill certain positions, have to start making moves and if that means leaking some news here or there that’s going to happen. Transfer rumors are what makes football fun because it gets people talking whether it’s good or bad news. Without rumors there would be no way of knowing which teams are going to sign or sell, unless people like the idea of not knowing what their teams will do.
