Final Thoughts:

Conceding a goal off of a turnover wasn’t the best way to fall behind Manchester City, but Tottenham kept pressuring and never backed down from City’s offensive assault when they were able to get through the defense. Key saves by Hugo Lloris and Spurs’ high-press were able to finally put Man City on their heels and they blinked after a gift by the assistant referee.

Kevin De Bruyne’s clearance was mishit and fell into Eric Dier’s path for him to score the equalizer. From then on, the entire second half saw the momentum go in Tottenham’s favor. With the crowd behind Spurs, they looked hard to stop as City would find out three goals later, starting with Toby Alderweireld’s header just five minutes after the second half got underway.

Overall, the first half seemed balance, but the second half was dominated by Tottenham. If Tottenham can maintain this type of performance against the rest of the league, there’s no reason why they can’t finish in the top four.
