At the time of this writing, it seems that no Spurs players decided to voice their opinion on the loss to Arsenal. Whether they do so in a day or two is unknown. In any event, we’ll just move straight into the final thoughts section and skip the Twitter comments for this eighth edition of Conversation Corner.

Unfortunately the aftermath surrounding Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal is one of anger and confusion.

Anger mostly at what Arsenal fans did during the winding minutes of their victory. Confusion for why Mauricio Pochettino chose the starting eleven that he did.

With regards to Arsenal fans and what transpired at White Hart Lane, they’re allowed to boo and jeer Spurs and their supporters. But as soon as it resorts to vandalism, then that becomes a huge issue. There’s a good chance that Spurs fans will try to do the same once round two of this derby reaches the Emirates Stadium come November. But perhaps from now on, it’d be in both clubs’ interest to not allow away supporters into either stadiums during these games.

It’s for the sake of both fan bases from not having to resort to violence by virtue of hooliganism. As soon as someone gets hurt, that’s when things go from bad to worse. Right now, what the Arsenal fans did was bad, if Spurs fans respond by doing the same, the situation will become worse. This game should be about football and the fans who support both clubs, but doing so in a way that doesn’t resort to vandalism in the name of one fan base showing their “superiority” over the other because of their team’s accomplishments than their rival.
