Conversation Corner: Tottenham vs Arsenal
Mauricio Pochettino:
“Mauricio’s here. Mauricio, just looking back at the North London Derby. End up losing 2-1, close game, what did you think?”
“Yeah close game, but disappointed for the result. I think that we deserve more, and… the way that we concede two goals, I think that we create more chance and we dominate. The second half was for us, and yeah, for that I think we feel all bad. But we need to take the positive things and forget now the derby and prepare because Saturday we have another tough game.”
“We came out so well in the second half. We got our equalizer. Do you think it was just a case of needing to get that second goal?”
“Yes I think that the second half, I think we deserved more and we dominate — we fully deserved more, we created the best chances. And you know, you need to kill the game. I think at 1-1, I think all people believe and watching the game, we are much better. But this is football, and you need to — don’t make a mistake, because a player or team that have a lot of quality. And you know, because today, maybe we missed a bit lucky, and in every game you need this. But a lot of positive things, I think we compete. But in the end the feeling is bad because it’s true, it was a derby, and we didn’t have the motivation to win the game.”
“You’ve talked a lot about positives. Who particularly are you happy with?”
“Well I think our performances was good and played today a lot of players that deserved to play and showed they can play in the starting eleven. And I think it was a good game, but we compete — this is the most important thing. And now we need to, tomorrow, start to prepare the game. We have one day less to prepare the game against Manchester City because they play yesterday. And now, we have to be strong, to be ready for Manchester City.”
“It’s the first time you’ve lost the North London Derby. It’s not a good feeling is it?”
“No, no no no with feeling this is true but, the circumstances and the way that we play I think it was good. But until then, it is always important the results. And disappointed with the results and the feeling is not good.”
