The Argentine winger is having plenty of clubs falling for his dazzling displays — two seasons ago with Roma — that they’re looking to get in contact with Spurs about a potential deal. How no deal has been finalized is amazing (sarcasm).

His time with Roma while in Seria A, was fantastic. That’s where the hype started and then abruptly died a Lilywhite death upon moving to Tottenham. That’s not to say that his career is over, well perhaps his English football career is… But he could still perform back in the Italian League where he was made famous.

Just look at what Roberto Soldado has done this season. He’s scored more goals than Harry Kane after returning to familiar territory (sick burn is appropriate because it’s true). Chances of Érik Lamela leaving by the deadline to these clubs: Roma (likely), Juventus (likely), Inter Milan (likely) or Olympique Marseille (likely).
