A “Mercenary” as he’s been called — I guess? Playing for 15 years (2001-present) and amassing all of those appearances, goals and assists has to count for something right? Why else would he be paid so much?

He was worth every single penny of the deals that the club signed coming off of the previous seasons. If he were to be sold, it could either be to West Ham (likely), Manchester United (what?) or Aston Villa (nah).
