Starting the latest transfer deadline day rumor is the signing — or soon to be — of Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato. This tops the current list solely because it could be close to being finalized. A club wouldn’t send a delegation to a different part of the world, in this case, Sao Paulo, Brazil to a conduct a meeting with a team and the player if a deal wasn’t on the table.

There’s even tweets regarding the ensuing exchange (picture of people in suits).

At a reported fee of €11 million (£8m), if that’s how much it costs to sign the Brazilian striker who’s regaining his form after the past few seasons were bad, then this is a steal for a backup striker. If this deal doesn’t get completed by tonight, then what are Spurs’ delegation there for?
