Conversation Corner: Tottenham at Leicester City
Dele Alli:
“Dele Alli’s here, the goal scorer, but the joy was short lived though.”
“Yeah definitely I was delighted to get my first goal, but like you said, took the buzz away from it with when they scored so early after. But yeah that’s how I felt to get the goal but unfortunate about the result”
“We saw how it panned out, how do you view the game overall?”
“Yeah I definitely say that we were the stronger team but you can’t take away from Leicester I mean they obviously they started the season so well and it’s a hard place to come and win. But I definitely feel that we should have took the three points today.”
“We want you to make an impact and you did, talk about your goal.”
“Yeah y’know I’m delighted to get some game time, obviously everyone wants to play as much as they can. Y’know I’m thankful to the manager for bringing me on. Yeah y’know obviously I found myself in the box, and natural reaction — to put it in the net but like I say, it’s devastating about the result.”
“You end up in the back of the net, but there was only one place you were going.”
“Yeah, everyone tackled me but I wanted to go and see the Spurs fans and thank them for showing their support today.”
“They’ve taken you straight to their hearts?”
“Yeah, I’m obviously really filled with the fans and obviously the great support today. All season so far they’ve been brilliant so yeah thanks.”
“Talk about your emotions from high to low after both goals.”
“Well y’know it’s one extreme to another obviously, first goal for Tottenham is a dream come true. Like y’know obviously coming here, you want to get that first goal and I’m happy I can do it early on in the season but like you say they score right away and it kills it.”
“Dele, thank you.”
“Cheers.”
