For Tottenham’s second game at home, a couple of changes were made to Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven. Ben Davies and Érik Lamela would be dropped in favor of Danny Rose (returning from injury) and Nabil Bentaleb (potentially regaining his form).

Rose’s return would help balance out Tottenham’s attack and not make it solely right-sided. The duo of Eric Dier and Nabil Bentaleb did much better this time around than against Mancester United. With Érik Lamela benched, Ryan Mason would transition back into the #10 hole, since his youth academy days.

Three games into the season and with Tottenham not being fully fit (current starters injured and new signings not yet ready) there have been some growing pains early in the season. Wins have been hard to come by and while Tottenham shouldn’t have drawn any of these games — plus the one loss — panic hasn’t sunk in yet for the players.

For the fans? It definitely has, especially with another draw, the third consecutive one. The month of August ends without a win for Tottenham and puts them 16th in the league table, near the relegation zone.
