Today’s Tottenham quiz uses some famous quotes by and about Spurs players, managers and officials. The media is always looking for a quote which will make a good headline and Danny Blanchflower, Tottenham’s famous captain of the Double winning was always ready to provide reporters with words of wisdom.
It was Blanchflower who famously told the Spurs Chairman, Fred Bearman, in the summer of 1960,
“We’ll win the Double for you this year – the League and the Cup.”
And he was as good as his word as Tottenham became the first team in the 20th century to lift both trophies the following May.
In the past days, the Argentine Juan Roman Riquelme described Paulinho who is expected to sign for Tottenham, as
“Paulinho is like a black Lampard, but also makes headed goals. He is a phenomenon.”
