The news Tottenham supporters had a feeling was coming, as the club officially announces that Mauricio Pochettino has been relieved of his duties.
With the club reeling in 14th place in the table, Daniel Levy and company decided to part ways with the Argentinian and his coaching staff. Pochettino will forever be held by the club in the highest acclaim.
With four consecutive top four finishes and a Champions League Final berth, Pochettino brought Spurs back to prominence. Many will deem this sacking far to premature. However there are schools of people who believe the club’s malaise has gone on far too long. Winless in 11 away Premier League encounters, Tottenham haven’t found decent form domestically for almost six months.
But many people expected, due to his past record, the club would give Pochettino more time, until at least January. That is not the case, with the news breaking about an hour ago.

Regardless of which side of the argument you fall, today will go down as one of the saddest in club history. Pochettino brought life, vigour and a sense of purpose to north London. His incredibly youthful, attacking sides took the top flight by storm.
He was unlucky not to lift a trophy with Spurs during his five-year tenure. And while he should be incredibly proud of his accomplishments at the club, Pochettino will always feel like he’s leaving Hotspur Way with some unfinished business.
We wish you all the best in the world, Mauricio. You’re one of the world’s best, which we know you’ll prove time and time again.
