The sunshine shone on north London again, as Tottenham enjoyed another perfect afternoon by demolishing Bournemouth 4-0 at White Hart Lane.

It was their seventh consecutive Premier League win, 15th win at home, 11th home clean sheet and eighth time Spurs have scored four or more goals in a game.

I’d say that constitutes a near-perfect day at the office. Here’s the player ratings from yet another fantastic day at the Lane.

Spurs player ratings

Hugo Lloris – 10/10

There’s no reason to deduct any marks from the Spurs keeper. While Lloris only had to make one save, he didn’t commit any errors and was his usual calming presence at the back. Plus, it’s yet another clean sheet for Spurs captain.

Kyle Walker – 8/10

Spurs first choice right back had another sterling day at the office. He didn’t make any errors and caused problems for Bournemouth for the duration. At times Walker was a bit quiet but Bournemouth didn’t test him at all defensively.

Jan Vertonghen – 9/10

Much like the rest of Spurs defence, Vertonghen was solid when he had to be but wasn’t tested often. His distribution was excellent, the Spurs center back zipping passes through narrow lanes to consistently find teammates. Vertonghen completed 93 percent of his passes, the kind of accuracy you’d expect from a top center back. He had 111 touches and won four aerial battles.

Toby Alderweireld – 8/10

Aldeweireld enjoyed an easy day at the office, akin to the rest of Spurs’ back line. But you can’t fault him for that. He was a threat on corner kicks and marshalled the back four with his usual poise and assurance. Alderweireld had 87 touches and won one aerial battle.

Ben Davies – 8/10

Usually more known for his defensive contributions, Davies had the freedom against Bournemouth to bomb forward at will. Unable to show off his defensive nous, Spurs second-choice left back had a relatively stress-free afternoon.

Mousa Dembele – 10/10

How can you not give Dembele a perfect report card after witnessing his exquisite performance? He scored his first goal in over a year from a corner kick and could have had another, the Belgian’s earlier venomous drive from outside of the box expertly saved by Artur Boric. Dembele covered the pitch like a beast and completed 98.5 percent of his passes.

Eric Dier – 10/10

Dier was a live wire from the off. He lunged into an aerial challenge in the opening minutes, clearly stating his, and Tottenham’s, intent. Dier created the turnover that led to Son’s 19th-minute goal. He immediately converged on Jack Wilshere, who couldn’t find an angle for the pass. Wilshere coughed it up, bouncing the ball off Dier’s leg. It fell favourably for Harry Kane whose nifty flick sent Son in on goal.

Christian Eriksen – 8/10

The only black mark on Eriksen’s day was his inability to put the ball in the back of the net. He created space, made intelligent passes and found himself in front of goal on numerous occasions. The crafty Dane should have found the net on at least one of many golden chances. He completed about 77 percent of his passes.

Heung-Min Son – 9/10

Son scored in his fourth consecutive match. That’s five goals in four Premier League encounters. He was strong on the ball all afternoon, making four key passes. The in-form Korean attempted five shots, three of which were on target. The 24-year-old will be a tad disappointed that he didn’t add a second tally.

Dele Alli – 8/10

A fairly quiet afternoon compared to his usually sky-high standards, Dele still didn’t make a wrong step. Though the young midfield will be slightly disappointed by having no attempted shots on goal. He didn’t make any key passes either.

Harry Kane – 10/10

Sure, Kane missed a few chances he’d ordinarily finish, but cut the man some slack. It was his first full game since returning from injury. He set the tempo from the first minute and his touch and setup play were immaculate.

Kane created Son’s goal by way of a deft, cheeky back heel. He then made a one-touch pass/through ball to Eriksen, whose shot was parried away by Boruc. Kane wouldn’t be denied, Spurs’ top goal scorer overpowering Simon Francis and tucking it home for his 20th of the season. He threatened all afternoon and caused Bournemouth’s defence nightmares they’ll need counselling to overcome.

Cameo appearances

Victor Wanyama – 7/10

Not really presented with much of an opportunity, Wanyama was solid and secure after coming on in the 79th minute. It sure is nice to have him back in the team though.

Moussa Sissoko – 7/10

Sissoko tried his utmost to make a difference. He steamrolled forward with intent, but, as usual, couldn’t come up with the decisive touch. He pulled the ball back far too often when he could have barrelled directly for goal.

Vincent Janssen – 9/10

In the briefest of cameos, Janssen made an unforgettable mark on the match. He scored his first Premier League goal from open play after only touching the ball three times while he was on, one of which coming from the initial shot. You could almost hear Spurs faithful emit a collective sigh of relief. Anyone associated with Spurs camp can relate, as Mauricio Pochettino’s sideline reaction clearly evinced.
