Tottenham travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in the FA Cup’s fifth round with a spot in the quarter-finals on the line.

Because Tottenham have already dropped two consecutive games in the span of six days, their confidence will most likely be severely low at the moment.

But since Spurs are facing Fulham away in the FA Cup, this should get them to snap out of their funk with a lot on the line.

A win and the north London club will advance into the FA Cup quarter-finals. A loss and they’re out with the Europa League being the only other cup competition left to play for.

Since Tottenham are seeking to win some silverware as soon as possible, Spurs will look to get far in as many competitions as they can, so long as Mauricio Pochettino’s squad can hold out from now until the end of the season that is.

Per the Argentine manager, he’s hoping his squad will be mentally prepared to get things going once again. He didn’t state who he would start, though you could guess that some rotation would be considered.

“Fulham are a good team in the Championship and you know when you play in the FA Cup the gap doesn’t exist between the levels of competition,” Pochettino said.

“The FA Cup is special and we need to show we can stop the negative way and try to recover the feeling we had before Liverpool.”

“Football is about emotion, mentality and after Liverpool we were disappointed, Gent was a good opportunity to turn that feeling but it wasn’t possible.”

“Now we need to take good decisions and try to win this game.”

As for Fulham’s point of view, Serbian manager, Slaviša Jokanović is looking forward to Sunday’s match-up because this is a game that best illustrates the magic that is the FA Cup.

Premier League teams facing Championship, League One, League Two or Non-league clubs where anything can happen (e.g. Tottenham 4-3 Wycombe). That’s enough motivation according to Jokanović.

“We’re motivated by the opportunity to play a strong team like Tottenham in the FA Cup,” the 48-year-old said.

“This competition is famous for its surprises. It’s a fantastic chance for us and isn’t a moment for us to surrender.”

“I will choose the best XI for the game in front of us. It’s one of the top Premier League teams and [this] isn’t a time to experiment.”

“It’s a great opportunity, for myself, Fulham, my players and the fans. We don’t need any further motivation.”

“I believe Spurs will rest some players. They won’t experiment but [Mauricio] Pochettino has a quality squad.”

Fulham must be taken very seriously as they already knocked out Premier League side Hull City. Now while the Tigers looked to be more concerned with Premier League survival, Spurs are susceptible at the moment having their confidence shattered by Liverpool and Gent.

The Cottagers are looking to claim another top flight division team’s scalp, and Tottenham must stop Fulham in their tracks to snap out of their current funk and get back to winning ways.
