Danny Rose is one of five Tottenham Hotspur players chosen in Roy Hodgson’s provisional 26-man squad for the upcoming Euros. But his spot isn’t guaranteed if he wants to represent England this summer.

Although England manager, Roy Hodgson, has shown his faith in Tottenham left-back, Danny Rose, the 25-year-old knows that he has to continue working hard to earn a spot on the final 23-man roster that will play in France for the Euros.

At the moment, Danny Rose is in a battle with Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand, for the starting left-back spot and with two more tune-up matches before the tournament begins on June 10th (England faces Russia on June 11th), there isn’t much time left for Rose if he wants to remain with the national team this summer.

This Friday night, England takes on Australia in the Three Lions’ second international friendly and it appears that Bertrand will be the starter at left-back.

Obviously this means Danny Rose has one more match left to prove himself, unless he comes in as a substitute. But with three straight starts for the Three Lions, Hodgson might switch things up and is giving Rose a rest.

Nevertheless, with time running out before the Euros start, Danny Rose must continue working hard after his error gave Turkey their equalizer early in the first half.

For starters, the 25-year-old, knows that he has to bring his club form with Tottenham into the international stage. As this is one sure-fire way to impress Roy Hodgson and nail the starting left-back position from Ryan Bertrand or other players who have since joined the group recently.

“Me and Ryan will go at it for the next two weeks — and may the best man win,” Danny Rose said (via London Evening Standard).

“I had started the last two England games and didn’t expect to start against Turkey as well. We found out the team last Friday and it was a great surprise.”

“Four months ago, I didn’t think I’d be in this position. It’s pretty surreal but I am just trying to enjoy every minute of it. I want to take my club form to international level.”

Danny Rose’s form last season seemed inconsistent at best, which could explain why he wasn’t viewed as a starter or backup for Roy Hodgson and the England squad.

But with his play vastly improved this term, it’s easy to see why Hodgson finally had to call-up the 25-year-old.

Now that Rose has gotten a few caps under his belt to represent his home country, the important part has just begun; constantly improving and maintaining his form to continue being selected.

An error against Turkey proved costly in allowing a goal, but England still won in the end. Despite that, Danny Rose (and Kyle Walker) were given some praise for their hard work three days ago by Manchester City’s Joe Hart, who was the starting goalkeeper in England’s 2-1 win over Turkey.

“The pace of the back four was amazing against Turkey,” Joe Hart said. “The centre-halves, Gary Cahill and John Stones, were strong and Rose and Kyle Walker were brilliant at full-back.”

“There was a lot of energy and consistency and they all showed cool heads when required. I’m really happy and we have more to come in, like Clyne, Smalling, it’s good.”

There will be more reinforcements at the full-back positions for both Danny Rose and Kyle Walker. But hopefully with more competition, this will only push Tottenham’s full-back duo to secure either the starting or backup spots and make it on to the final roster for the Euros this summer.
