An area that Tottenham needs to invest in, is the winger position.

Heading into this past season, Mauricio Pochettino had four wingers on the squad and all of them had a chance to show that they should remain with Tottenham for next year. Yet, once the 2014-15 season ended, only two wingers are most likely to stay and the other two are close to leaving.

Nacer Chadli has solidified his spot in Pochettino’s starting eleven by grabbing a hold of the left midfield/winger position. Over on the right side, Érik Lamela will be the starter as well after getting more playing time than Andros Townsend.

When you add that Aaron Lennon was loaned to Everton during the winter transfer window, it gave Spurs only three wingers on the squad for half of the season; mainly two since Townsend wasn’t used as much.

Looking at the players that Tottenham have been linked to, this article will only highlight wingers who have yet to be signed and are at least a possibility to sign with Tottenham. The four that Spurs have been rumored with are Kevin Mirallas, Xherdan Shaqiri, Andriy Yarmolenko and Yannick Bolasie. While Shaqiri hasn’t been openly linked to a move to White Hart Lane, he’s listed as a possibility to sign due to negotiations with Stoke City breaking down.

Time to get to the first player on this list, Kevin Mirallas.
