The reaction of Mauricio Pochettino, the players and fans to the Tottenham hard-earned win over AEL Limassol in the Europa League 1st leg game in Cyprus.
Mauricio Pochettino was relieved to get the win in his first European game as a manager. His comments were reported by @SpursOfficial, he said,
In the end it was an important win and another victory. It was a difficult game and I’m happy with the players.
He acknowledged the important part played by the three Tottenham substitutes who came on during the second half, in achieving the win. He commented,
Lamela, Chadli and Mousa had an impact when they came on which is important.
Pochettino had praise for the brief performance of Eric Lamela. The Evening Standard reported his comments,
It is never easy in first season for a player from another country. It is true that it was difficult for him. He was injured and we are confident with him that with time and hard work, like he has done in pre-season, he can go far.
Mauricio Pochettino continued,
We need him to look forward, believe in his skill and condition and work very, very hard. With confidence and time he will show his value.
In his cameo performance in the last 18 minutes Erik Lamela changed the course of the game. Afterwards he told @SpursOfficial,
It was a difficult game but the most important thing is that we won.
Hugo Lloris was captain on the night and he played his part in the win by ensuring that Limassol didn’t add to their early goal. He made a number of vital saves as the home team broke at pace on the counter-attack. He said,
It was difficult to find space in the first half against a team that played deep but we came back and won which was important.

Pochettino's subs have been great in the first two matches. Villas Boas almost always got it wrong in that department #thfc
