The Tottenham players were pleased with the win over Fulham with the comments portrayed their gratitude to Hugo Lloris who played a major part in the success.
Hugo Lloris was a major contributor to Tottenham’s win with a number of outstanding saves at important times in the game. He made an early save to deny Hugo Rodallega while the game was still scoreless. He then rescued Spurs with a fantastic save from the Columbian striker’s bullet header to prevent Fulham drawing level for a second time as they had achieved in the first half. With 15 minutes to play Lloris saved Steve Sidwell’s penalty which meant Spurs avoided a nervy finish to the game, especially as in the final minutes he was required to make another two crucial saves to frustrate the visitors.
Hugo Lloris’ comments on his penalty stop, from @SpursOfficial,
Penalties are often about luck and today, the luck was on my side.
Captain, Younes Kaboul’s comments on Lloris’ part in the Tottenham win were reported by @SpursOfficial,
Big credit to Hugo because he kept us in the game. I’ve known Hugo since I was 16 when we played together in French national youth teams, so I’ve seen many times what he can do. He is so quick and so intelligent and that’s difference compared to some of the other goalkeepers.
On his first goal of the season, Kaboul said,
Of course, I’m delighted to get the goal and enjoy a very good performance, but I just had to put it in to be fair! It’s been long time since I last hit the net, I’ve been injured for long time, but I’m happy to be back on the scoresheet.
Talking about the result and performance Kaboul said,
Credit to the boys today because we had a great second half and we won the game fairly.
Christian Eriksen who created two of the goals as Spurs took a 3 – 1 lead in the second half was thankful to Lloris for the penalty save. It was the Dane who had given away the penalty with a handball offence. The Sunday Express reported Eriksen’s remarks which had been made in an interview with BT Sport,
I was a little bit nervous but luckily Hugo made the save. We have to thank him for what he did in this win today, and all season.
