The thoughts of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane on Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League win over Fulham at White Hart Lane.
Harry Kane scored his third goal since making his first Premier League start in the game against Sunderland and has made the most of the opportunity with a goal in each of the three matches.
Harry Kane via @HotspurRelated commented on his selection for the Tottenham team,
It’s been great to get some starts and three in three is great. I’m happy to be playing. You’ve got to take your chances at the very top level and I’ve been able to do that when I’ve been playing.
In the light of Sandro’s tweet on Saturday and earlier comments from players, Kane denied there was any problem at Spurs between the players and manager, saying
Everyone gets on well with him. He’s a great manager, we’ve been getting good results and scoring a lot more goals.
On his two ‘assists’ Christian Eriksen said,
(I wanted to hit them) hard enough, with enough pace to be difficult for defenders. The first was just a cross, the second I really went for goal but it was lucky.
For the second, I really went for goal, but luckily Younes was there.
Tim Sherwood had words of praise for Eriksen, saying, “He must be a dream to play with.” @HotspurRelated tweeted a further comment from the manager about Eriksen, saying,
Eriksen was pleased with the overall performance and the spirit of the team. He commented,
He’s a fantastic advert for any young player who wants to improve himself.
It was a good team performance. We showed good spirit, of course we started well, better than recent games, so that’s a big plus. We did well to come back after Fulham made it 1 – 1. Normally, we shouldn’t give away a goal like that but we kept fighting and turned it around.
Eriksen is finishing the season strongly and now has 7 goals and 9 assists in league games this season. He is pleased with his current form and said,
I’m really happy about what’s happening and with my development. I love playing, I’ve got the chance to improve and I’m having fun.
@HotspurRelated reported Eriksen’s comments,
I feel like I’m on my way to playing best football of my career. I’m happy with where I am. Hopefully I’ll keep getting better.
Talking about Tim Sherwood, Eriksen said,
He allowed me to play and improve and just show what I’m capable on the pitch.
