Tottenham Fans Reaction to Spurs Display Against Benfica In Europa League

Tottenham fans reacted positively to Spurs’ performance in the Europa League draw against Benfica and to the display of the individual players who showed spirit and commitment in Portugal.

Chris Baker (@CDBaker86) tweeted,

Spurs at least came out of tonight with some pride restored. Encouraging from Nacer Chadli. Kane did better than Roberto when he was on.

Callum Haymes (@CallumHaymes) was pleased with the performances but like many expressed concern over the future of Roberto Soldado.

Very promising indeed. I do worry about Soldado though. His confidence has been diminished. Will he ever recover?

Will Mcgoogin (@WillMcgookin) hopes that we’ll see similar performances from the team in the final league games of the season, tweeting,

We battered Benfica, played well but too little too late, take it on to the prem now!!!

Individual players came in for praise from Jesse Yale (@JYaleTHFC) who tweeted,

Eriksen and Chadli linked up well when came on both must start Sunday. Also praise when deserved to Bentaleb. Fryers did a good job too.

Ali (@Ali_THFC) struck out against those fans who have been over critical of certain players over the past months when he tweeted,

Over the last few months I’ve seen so much unnecessary abuse aimed at Naughton, Chadli and Bentaleb. Only very few have stuck by them.

Peter Parka (@Deasel) selected Nacer Chadli for praise for his display, he tweeted,

Think Chadli should be given a run. He’s looked good in recent games and is a lot more skilful than I gave him credit for. Well done son!

JIm Mc (@jimspur72) summed up the view of most supporters on Tottenham’s battling performance when he tweeted,

Just caught up with the game. Well done Spurs. Proud of you all. Bentaleb, Naughton, Chadli, all played well. Sandro & Zeki too. So close.

Aaron Lennon who captained the Tottenham team against Benfica tweeted,
