End Of Season Predictions: Where Will Tottenham Finish?

With four months of the season remaining and 14 games to play who will win the title? What are your predictions for where Tottenham will finish?

Predictions for End of Season

I thought it would be fun.

Before the beginning of the season I wrote:

Saturday 10 August

‘I’m starting to get those gut feelings about the Premiership. I see Chelsea as champs, with Arsenal as the wild card if they capture a world class striker this summer. Moneybags Man City buying 2nd regardless, United 3rd or worse. I think Rooney has already cost them the title and it would have been the same if Ferguson had stayed on. Mourinho’s unsettling of him is a masterstroke, whether Chelsea get him or not. David Moyes has just lost his first home game, the vibes aren’t great. Spurs 4th or 5th, Better if Bale stays.’

Now, at the end of January, with the transfer window closed and before last weekend’s results I predicted”

If Rooney, Van Persie and Mata stay fit, I think we could well see Manchester United clawing their way back up to 4th place. So it’s looking like Arsenal/Man City, Chelsea, then Man U/Tottenham/Liverpool/Everton. I’d love to think that our players returning to fitness will secure us 4th but we never seem to be that lucky.

The final day’s transfer dealings will lead to a fascinating end to the season at the bottom. Crystal Palace have done some great business, including winning the fight for Tom Ince’s signature on loan. Fulham have done well on the face of it too but it seems to me whether they stay up will all be down to whether the striker that is scoring for fun in Greece’s “Super League” (yeah right) can cut it in the Premier League. I don’t think they’ll make it. West Ham have signed a lot of players too but again whether they have the required class… we will see. I think Cardiff’s business is second only to Palace’s. Two talented players starved of opportunity at United, plus players that Solskjaer knows and understands from Norway. I think they’ll make it.

Sadly for Chris Hughton, now all the business is done, I think Norwich will go down plus one from West Ham or Fulham. My wild card for 3rd down? Stoke City.

Logan’s Predictions:

1st: Man City 2nd: Chelsea 3rd: Arsenal 4th: Liverpool 5th: United 6th: Spurs 7th: Everton

Relegation: Fulham, Cardiff, Swansea

Spurs have not impressed their fans for 4th place qualification. Our game against Hull proved the point.

High hopes at the start of the season soon slipped away – in the early months we stayed close to the top even though we weren’t playing well while the top teams had a few unexpected results. Now that they’ve got into their stride we’re not up to the challenge with only an outside chance of 4th and as you say, the Hull result showed that.

Our game against Hull displayed the football intelligence of Sherwood and Ferdinand. Spurs are a team which are disjointed and unbalanced. We continue to appoint managers or head coaches who are constantly outwitted by the opposition. Mr. Levy, the WBA coach had them playing as a cohesive unit against MU. Your coaches can’t. Please bring back Irving Scholar!!!! At least we played with class.

Team lacked ideas against Hull and no direction came from the coaching staff as unfortunately they were equally bewildered.

We’re 6th at the moment. Think Manchester United will probably pick up. We could well end up 7th, but let’s hope for better.
