Tottenham’s win at Swansea maintains Tim Sherwood’s impressive record since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in mid-December. Spurs have now taken 16 points out of a possible 18 and extended their record of consecutive away wins in the league to five, something never achieved by the club in the Premier League era. The club last had five consecutive away league wins in 1960 under Bill Nicholson.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Tim Sherwood was happy to get the three points. He thought the team played well, having changed the formation a little bit with three up top. He praised the fluidity among the players after the first fifteen minutes when Swansea came on and had a few chances outside the box, and as soon as it clicked Spurs quality came through.
The manager gave Emmanuel Adebayor the credit for his good form, saying that he had just given him the stage.
Manu was always a fantastic player and everywhere he has been he has scored goals. He’s enjoying his football at the moment and we are all reaping the rewards from it.
Speaking to @SpursOfficial Tim Sherwood acknowledged that Spurs started slowly,
We didn’t have a shot on target until we scored but I always felt that we would score. It took us a while to get used to how they play but we stuck to it and it was comfortable for us in the end.
He was pleased with the performance and spoke of the contribution of the travelling Tottenham support.
It was a good away performance, our fans were magnificent. They expect to be entertained and we did that today.
PLAYERSA very happy Emmanuel Adebayor who scored two goals also spoke to @SpursOfficial. Talking about the opening goal, he said,
It was a good goal. I got a good touch on the cross and it went straight into the net. I’m happy to score, happy to win, very happy for the team and happy for everyone today.
Nabil Bentaleb again impressed with a very composed and confident performance. He worked very hard and was always looking for the ball or to close Swansea down. He tweeted, @nabilbentaleb42

Aaron Lennon tweeted – “Nice win today!!! #COYS

Lewis Holtby who was an unused substitute and about whom there have been rumours of him returning to play in Germany, tweeted after the game.
