A festive Tottenham team with a Christmas theme which will, of course, have to play in the 4-3-2-1 ‘Christmas tree formation’.
CHRIS (mas) DAY
Didn’t actually make it into the first team but sat on the bench on so many occasions without actually getting a game. Played in the ill-fated Inter-Toto Cup campaign
Was with Spurs from 1929 to the summer of 1931 and made 69 appearances.
We 3 Kings from Orient are…. (and there was Arthur, Derek and Edgar as well so we were spoiled for choice)
The first Nowell
Made just one League appearance in March, 1976 against Aston Villa. Was a Northern Ireland international.
Away in a manger… the cattle are LOWing. Roy Low was the first player to appear as a substitute for Spurs, against Arsenal in 1965.
An England amateur international, he made a single League appearance for Spurs immediately after the 2nd World War.
I’m dreaming of a White Christmas
Pick whichever carol you want!
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
In reserve we could have left-back Cyril Snowles or central defender David Tu(r)ttle or Sam Bell and Walter Bellamy.
There could be only one man for the job:
Saint Bill NICHOLAS(on)
