The focus of attention after Tottenham’s win over Anzhi was on Roberto Soldado and his har-trick. Andre Villas-Boas and teh other players were delighted for the Spanish striker who has struggled to score goals since his arrival at White Hart Lane.
Andre Villas-Boas was quoted on the cub’s Twitter account, @SpursOfficial, saying of Roberto Soldado,
Important for him. A striker lives off goals and the three tonight are major for his confidence’
Soldado was delighted to get among the goals and pointed out to @SpursOficial that scoring three goals wasn’t easy so he was very pleased as he collected the match ball.
I’m happy – three goals is not a simple job so I’ll go home happy. It means a lot to me. The match ball tonight with all the signatures will go into my collection. With this victory & goals, the team are happy.
The two young players who played during the game were excited to be involved and received praise from their manager. AVB said,
