Tottenham's Harry Kane Scores As England Draw in Under-20 World Cup

Tottenham’s Harry Kane carried on from where he’d left off at the weekend with another exciting performance as he scored the equaliser as England drew 1 – 1 in the Under-20 World Cup match against Chile in Turkey.

England’s second game in the Under-20 World Cup ended in a draw as Harry Kane scored a second half equaliser after Chile had taken the lead in the first half. In the opening Group match Kane had two assists as England took a two goal lead against Iraq but a penalty and a last minute goal saw England drop two points.

Against Chile England had started the better but they went behind when they conceded a penalty with just over half an hour played. Kane brought England level after 64 minutes when he was set up by Barkley to score with a shot from 20 yards.

Tottenham’s other representative at the World Cup tournament, Alex Pritchard had come on two minutes earlier, playing on the left of midfield and he had a header saved with eight minutes remaining. In the final minutes the two Tottenham players combined when Pritchard met Kane’s cross but his effort was blocked.

Chile and Iraq have 4 points while England have 2 and they will play their final Group match on Saturday against Egypt who are bottom of the group. This is a game which England have to win and then wait to see how the the other match turns out to decide their fate regarding the knock-out stages of the tournament.

England are managed by former Tottenham player, Peter Taylor while Spurs coach Chris Ramsey is his assistant. Sixteen teams from the 6 groups will qualify for the Round of 16 to be played next week.
